About

Luthier and self-described tinkerer, Andrew James “AJ” Peat, designs and builds guitars, pedals and audio components one at a time, by hand, in his workshop in Orange County, California, USA. He uses a mix of premium components like Detroit-made titanium bridges, plates and saddles, ThröBak and Don Mare pickups, and unique resources like reclaimed and hand selected woods (Brazilian rosewood, Gaboon ebony, Michigan maple, 100-year-old reclaimed Honduran mahogany, 150-year-old reclaimed white pine, 250-year-old reclaimed cedar, Korina, Southern swamp ash, and alder). AJ Peat’s instruments capture that vintage sound unlike any other. Drawing from decades of experience as a guitar tech and builder, his designs are highly sought-after by discriminating players, and his products are currently being used and endorsed by artists such as Craig Bartock of Heart, Junior Watson, Warren Haynes, Mike Ness of Social Distortion, Bill Kirchen, Carl Jah of Dread Zepplin, Frank Macias, Bobby Moses Nichols, Jim Washburn, Mark Huizenga and Sam Vail. Painstakingly constructed one at a time or in small batches, each edition of an AJ Peat is like a rare vintage instrument. Find out what discriminating players have known for decades, there is no substitute for an AJ Peat!
